Production Log - Week 1
What I have learnt from this week is that from the mark scheme of the course there are many things that need to be done or used to make the work being assessed good. From what I have gathered from previous years work is that you need to make a some what of a original story that isn't too generic and basic so it doesn't get too stale or boring and repetitive, such as a basic drugs gang fighting over some drugs it over used, you could perhaps use other themes as deprived or trying to escape the harsh reality. Other things I have learn from other students work is that the quality of how the opening sequence is needs to be good, such as the title sequence needs to be clear and readable and not small and pixelated an example of this is 'Bridges'.
You also need to have a clear understanding of what's going on and it needs to makes sense 'Pushing Buttons' did this well with a depressed Women working at work with horrible Boss, Bridges suffered from this and the story that the students were trying to make was very unclear was almost unnoticeable. The camera language also throughout needs to be some what creative and fresh and not just stale midshots that Bridges did suffer from as well, the angles that the cameras are at can high or low which can add a sense of dominance and innocence if used well which can be very useful in BSR films.
The things that I will try to recreate is the sense of realism and harsh setting that some past students work have done, but there are also many things that I would also want to avoid too such as the things I mentioned above but also things such as boring locations such as the school, I would go to places that most people haven't gone too or go somewhere that isn't a hotspot for most students, which show a sign of creativity and, shows a sign of independence and reliability.
